Week 18. This is about where I got to last year before I decided I’d had enough. I put my binder away and didn’t come back to it until after Sawyer was born in October. Luckily I didn’t stop taking photographs so I was able to go back and make a reasonable stab at filling in the missing months.
This year I am still loving it and still going strong!
Sawyer turned 6 months old this week and I used a die cut and a button from A Life HandmadeΒ to make a little 6 month card.
I had three inserts this week. The first was the April photo mosaic which is a round up of some of the pictures for the month, many of which didn’t make it into the weekly pages. I love looking back at how much we’ve done each month.Β
On the other side I put an 8×10 enlargement of my favourite photo from April – a photo of Flynnie where he looks so grown up!
The other two inserts were both for the wedding that we went to on Saturday. Firstly the wedding invitation with a picture of Richard and Juli, the bride and groom on the other side:
The second was a cut down page protector with 3×3 pockets which I used for 8 instagram pictures from the wedding:
Finally the second half of the week looks like this:
In addition to the wedding on Saturday, Flynnie and I also went to a birthday party for one of his best friends. I wanted to put the wedding and the party in the Saturday spot so I used a 6×4 American Crafts pocket to make a little lift up photo pocket.
And here are the party pictures inside:
So that was week 18. Thanks for visiting and if you have time to leave a comment I would love to hear what you think.
As usual I will be linking up with The Mom Creative for Project Life Tuesday. Click over there for more Project Life blogs and inspiration!

You had a very busy week! Great photos as always. I think the little pockets and inserts really do make the pages.
Nice idea to include the wedding invitations too.

Thanks Sharon, and thanks for the page protector that ended up in this week π

So many fab photos to look at this week! Love the mosaic and the cut down insert and the flip up page – all of it. The enlarged photo of Flynn is simply lovely, too!

Thanks Jules – I didn’t think I had much for this week but ended up with three inserts!

AH! Love these pages. The mosaic is awesome, and the photo of your little one is PERFECT in that spot!

Thanks for your lovely comments Heather – I love the picture of Sawyer too. He is such a character!

Loving your layouts π How come you lost interest last year? Its good how you are changing it up this week – is that what is keeping you interested this time Sarah… the photo strip is cute as

Thanks so much Nat! Last year I did it very much by the book – I had the Amber kit, which I didn’t love, and just used the journalling cards everyday with hardly any ‘extras’. Of course it helps that I am still on maternity leave at the moment and so doing lots of fun little things like coffee with friends etc. The real test will be when I go back to work…:(

That mosaic is awesome! 6 months old! Goes by SO fast, oh my goodness. I think it’s great you were able to go back and fill in last year with the photos you took. Do you think you’ll do a Project Life Baby edition for Sawyer? My son just turned one about a month ago, and even though I have a few layouts from last year with him (the past four months of the year, I just made monthly or bi-weekly spreads, and have so many leftover photos), I think I’m going to go back and do his first year with that Baby edition when it comes out. What are your thoughts about that?
documentingchaos said:
Hi Melissa, I’m really interested to see what the baby edition is like. I don’t think I’ll go back and do Sawyer because he is pretty well covered in the last few months of last year. However my other son, Flynn was born in July 2009 and I wasn’t doing PL then (I have since done 2010 – just finished today- though so he is extremely well represented there!). I might go back and do July-December 2009 if I like the baby edition. Your idea sounds perfect for your son π

Such a lovely spread. π I love the lift up pocket!
I just want to ask, did you use a specific template for your photo mosaic?
documentingchaos said:
Hi Tracey, thanks so much for your lovely comments. No – I made a layered photoshop template at the beginning of the year for the mosaic and have just used that every month. There are lots available online though – I’m sure you could find something similar through google π

I love your pages and your WITL pages also. What a great job you did on all of them. How awesome that your still going strong and making it work for you this time. I do mine weekly instead of daily and it make it so much easier. I’ve also added inserfts which is great for the busy weeks.
LOVE LOVE your mossaic pages, how did you do those. I’ve been punching mine with a puncher but if you know an easier way let me know pleeeeaaaaseee ! Love the look of all those together.
Keep going strong, the end result is soooo awesome and worth it. This is my 4th year doing it and I love it even more this year then ever.

Enjoy your week.

Thanks so much Dawn π
For the mosaic pages I use a layered photoshop template – MUCH easier than punching! If you have photoshop or photoshop elements they are really straightforward, and there are lots of templates available, many free or very cheap. π
