Project Life Weeks 13-15

Yet again time has totally got away from me and I am so behind with blogging! Still just about managing to keep up with Project Life though despite some big things coming up in our life soon.

Week 13 saw me in Brisbane for the Australian Dental Association Congress. Lots of learning but also lots of good food – a standout was a trip to Jamie’s Italian – just amazing!

Week 14 was the last week of school and also Easter. We went camping for the long weekend and to celebrate Kindee’s birthday. We had a great time.

The first week in April was a bit of a quiet one – the first week of school holidays and the first week in months where all the kids were away. We didn’t know what to do with ourselves! Flynnie and Sawyer came home at the end of the week and Flynnie had his first taste of soccer training on the saturday. He loved it!

I am planning to go back and blog the weeks I’ve missed – stay posted 🙂

Project Life Weeks 4-6

Blogging has got away from me a little these last couple of weeks. Back to school has been immense in our house with Jackson starting a new school and Flynnie going into prep and we have been concentrating a lot of our time on the kids making sure they are settled and working out the routine. I have still been Project Lifeing and putting my pages on Instagram every week ( follow me @documenting_chaos ) but the blogging has taken a back seat.

Creme Eggs. How I love them! Thank goodness you can’t buy them all year round! Still loving bending stamps around curves – love this Hello Deliciousness stamp from Kellie Winnell – check out her clear and wood mount stamps here.

Jackson turned 8 on Australia Day and we had a party the day before.

Week 5 was back to school week. Jackson and Flynnie at the same school this year and Sawyer will be joining them there next year (I’m trying not to wish the year away by fantasising about only one drop off…!).

We had some good local media coverage about the practice which was great.

Saturday was our first ‘no-screen’ day. No iPads, computers, TV, phones etc etc. I think Kindee and I found it harder than the boys but I’m glad we did it and it will be a regular event now.

Week 6 and a sore tooth saw me on the other side of the dental chair 😦

An award for Flynnie for ‘lovely manners’ at school. Would be nice to see some evidence of those manners at home!

Celebration for my buddy Sharon who is on the brink of building her home. She had a good news phone call from the bank while we were having coffee and I had to record the moment!

So those were the last three weeks. Hopefully I will be able to get back to blogging weekly now things are settling down a bit!

 

(belated) Hello to 2015 – weeks 1-3

So the year has started in typically crazy style and suddenly it is the end of week three and I haven’t blogged yet!

I have been doing my Project Life though so here are my weeks so far. The layout above is my cover page for the first album of 2015. I’ve been hoarding those gold letterpress cards for ever and I’m glad I saved them for something special! The brush script of our names is by my beautiful friend Kristina who did an awesome brush script for Sawyer’s wall last year. Love her work!

I am keeping it really simple this year but indulging my love for stamps!

I have a massive collection of stamps that I have hardly used so I am making a big effort to get them on the page.

Week 2 was a big week for me at work with the last week of training before the practice opened. Was so great to see the team coming together so well.

The practice was looking great. All ready for our first patients!

We kept busy all weekend so I didn’t have a chance to get too nervous! the boys kept me laughing with their funny faces!

Week three and we opened our doors! For me it was exciting and scary to see what would come of all the work I’d done over the last 5 months.

I needn’t have worried. There were the usual little hiccups but we were open and on our way (and booked out for three weeks!)

The weather has been crazy this week with thunder and lightning but very little rain. Luckily we finally got some rain yesterday but it is still very humid again now 😦

Just one page for day 23 and a story about teaching Jackson to play Monopoly. He then taught Flynnie and we have played multiple extremely competitive games over the last couple of days!

Day 22 and it’s starting to feel a lot like Christmas! All the boys are here, I’ve nearly finished work and it’s time to have some fun! I LOVE the Muppet Christmas Carol and this year all the kids watched it too.

I included the photo I sent to my sister for her birthday – the kids thought it was so funny to do!

When we lost power just before 6pm I was about to put my Christmas cookies in the oven. Back into the fridge they went and out came the glass jars and tea lights! Luckily it wasn’t too humid and we had a delicious tea of pizza cooked in the barbeque!

With all the boys back here we unpacked our Polar Express today. All three of them are train mad and they loved setting it up around the tree!

A trip to the Stable on the Strand this evening – something that we do every year.
